Will there be Cinematic sequences in the game? [top]

Yes. The Blizzard Film Department will create cinematic sequences for World of Warcraft. We do not anticipate, however, that the game will have as many as our previous games due to the nature of Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Games. You can see the first cinematic for World of Warcraft on the movies page.
What are cities like in World of Warcraft? [top]

The cities in World of Warcraft are large, sprawling areas, each with their own distinctive architecture and style. Cities are where players go to train in their professions, shop for rare goods at local vendors, develop their trade skills, obtain new and exciting quests, buy and sell goods with other players, construct and maintain their personal dwellings, and sometimes, even participate in unique city adventures.
Will clans and guilds be formally supported in the game? [top]

Yes. We fully intend to support a full-featured community. Specific details regarding clans and guilds will be released in the months ahead.
How do guilds work? [top]

Players can band together to form guilds, which are large social groups, in order to help each other progress in the game. Players get to choose an emblem and color combination unique to their guild, embroidered on special guild tabards that players can display proudly over their characters' armor.
Will there be a Buddy or Friend list? [top]

World of Warcraft will include a full-featured Friends interface with a number of different features for managing your interaction with the online community.
Will there be player housing? [top]

World of We would like to include player housing, but it is too early to determine whether doing so would be plausible.
What modes of transportation will be found in the game? [top]

There will be many forms of transportation within the World of Warcraft including portals, ships and zeppelins. We are currently evaluating the balance ramifications for several alternative forms of travel and will continue to update the FAQ with new information on a regular basis.
Will there be a bank? How much will it hold? [top]

Yes, there will be a bank with ample storage space to hold multiple player items. This option will allow players to store as many items as they need without requiring them to create additional characters to store surplus items.
Will there be a Hardcore Mode? [top]

No. Hardcore Mode is a feature in the Diablo universe.
What is PvP like in World of Warcraft? [top]

PvP is consensual and about 90% of World of Warcraft's zones will not be PvP enabled. The 10% that will be PvP will have PvP elements such as arenas or even battlefields where players will fight for control of towers or other such buildings. Perhaps this can be perceived as a siege type gameplay which would be ideal for group play.

The arena will be the areas that attract the real crowds and Blizzard will allow players to purchase tickets to watch these spectacles. The arena will also be geared towards PvP guild wars where guilds will purchase special 'guild war' tickets and invite other clans to come fight in the arena. These events will be organised via a broadcast system in the game and other players in the world will be able to purchase tickets for game currency to watch these epic battles. No ticket no spectating. Guild and single PvP battles won't be the only features available. You will be able to purchase tickets to watch dragon fights for example and others players can buy tickets to join in dragon fights already planned. While WoW may be criticised for not having a more open ended PvP system, the development team are doing their best to make sure that those who want an enthralling PvP experience will be more than satisfied with what's in store. Check out our PvP section for more information.

How will PCs sell items? Will WoW feature a sort of auction house or support personal bazaars? [top]

I do not believe Blizzard has decided how this will happen yet, apart from an auction channel.
